New Archangel Dancers Russian and Ukrainian Folk Dance Show

We are an all-women, non-profit volunteer group that live and work in Sitka. Since 1969 the New Archangel Dancers have promoted Alaska as a visitor destination by sharing their knowledge of Sitka's Russian History and their pride in Alaska.

The Dancers' success and notoriety have been enhanced by regular guest performances at the opening of new Alaska Airlines terminals, at Alaska Governors' inaugural celebrations, and at various dance festivals, tourism trade shows, conferences, and public events. In addition to performing throughout the "lower 48," the dancers have performed to enthusiastic audiences in Hawaii, Japan, Russia, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

Harrigan Centennial Hall

Enjoy a traditional Russian, Ukrainian & Moldavian Folk Dance Show. These were prominent in Sitka during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The Dancers support the performing arts in the community of Sitka and promote and encourage tourism.

Absolutely some of the most beautiful costumes. The story telling in dance was full of joyful expressed emotion. This was an honest artistic work by engaged performers. Bravo!

The New Archangel Dancers and Folk Show had outstanding production value considering they are all volunteers with other jobs. The dancers were very enthusiastic and entertaining as they performed their various Ukrainian and Russian Folk dance routines. I liked the dance stories which were presented in a n entertaining and humorous way. The emcee of the show in her outstanding attire was humorous and informative as well. The period clothing and costumes were very colorful and top notch, and added to the overall experience. It is clear they love what they do! The New Archangel Dancers are not professionals! As a non-profit, volunteer dance troupe the performance was well worth it. At $15 a ticket it was easily the best value of our entire Alaskan cruise.
