This neighborhood and its cemetery tells the story of New Orleans from the Louisiana Purchase to the Civil War. Stunning antebellum mansions, lush gardens, unforgettable stories, and beautiful photo opportunities await! We keep our group size under 12 guests to make in a fun, personal experience.

The tour was fun and informative, and our guide, Renee, was amazing! She gave us a fast-paced download of New Orleans history, an overview of her own idiosyncratic family history, and a zoomed-in look at various aspects of the Garden district, from notes on antebellum architecture to personal anecdotes about John Goodman, who has a house there. She's a wonderful raconteur. I would listen to her rattle off a library catalogue.

James was very knowledgeable about New Orleans history and the architecture of the Garden District. I learned a lot about the way the economy of the city changed over time and how that affected the homes that we saw. Of course, he pointed out the houses owned by movie stars and where movies had been filmed. The weather and the smell of the sweet olive trees was delightful!
