Take a tipsy journey through the spirit trails and exclusive entry through barricades as we retrace the immigrant progress toward the American Dream during Prohibition. At the start of the evening, we will visit two of New York's most unique bars and speakeasies while drinking beer/wine at the first and a specialty cocktail at the second. All the while, we will explore the catalysts behind Prohibition. Our storytelling will focus on the women of the Gilded Age and the movement that gave rise to an oil king while eating. To round off our journey together we will guide you into one of New York's last-standing 1920s speakeasies and tell the tale of the period’s most notorious gangsters, infamous bootleggers and discuss the sudden demise of Prohibition. Here you will have an open bar until Midnight with an exclusive view of the ball drop from 12 blocks away (where we end is an exclusive section that the general public is not allowed into).

Overpriced, not enough food, no one told us when to head out for the ball drop ...we worked out ourselves

This was an fun, informative and enjoyable tour, and the BEST way to experience New York City on New Years Eve. Rory and her team from Telltale Tours were warm and friendly, provided interesting details about each of the three speakeasys that we visited, and got us an unobstructed view of the ball drop at midnight on 12/31. I highly recommend this for anyone who is visiting NYC for New Years Eve! #ViatorTravel
