We purchased the 72 hour pass with 3 attractions & ferry trip on advice from hotel receptionist at a cost of 149 dollars each. On arrival at the bus stop there were quite a few people waiting to do the downtown tour, when the bus arrived it was quite full but we decided to get on even though we had to sit downstairs. Unfortunately you can't really see out of the downstairs windows so we might as well have been on the subway! If you are going to charge so much please out extra buses on & on the subject of the buses they are pretty old & dilapidated. However I did notice other bus companies had full buses too. The next day we did uptown tour which wasn't as busy. We used passes to get into 9/11 museum,Top of the Rock & Radio City Tour although at radio city they said they weren't valid but took pity on us & let us in. Overall worth it for passes but not a brilliant service.

If you get the 72 hour pass with the attractions it's totally worth it. I had the downtown tour twice and it was very interesting. The tour guides (Dean on my first loop and Alan on my second) were very good. They have all the knowledge providing fun facts about every area or building or neighborhood and they really made the tour much more interesting. Also this morning I took the Brooklyn tour which was very interesting as well. The tour guide (Tomasso I think) is practically a performer. Well done to all three of them. I wouldn't have enjoyed any of the tours that much if it wasn't for them.

We went for the night tour. Our guide was a heavily accented Russian man. He was a bit difficult to understand at times but this was more than compensated for by his sense of humour and joviality. Great guide. I deducted two stars because the canopy on the top deck was filthy and marked, making it hard to see out. The reps at Time Square can be a nuisance as well.
