My wife and I were on honeymoon, just married in New Hampshire and in New York for 2 days before going to Vegas and the west coast. The cruise was almost the highlight of our time there, nice boat and entertainment, good food and sensational views of New York. However all of this was ruined by the most self-obsessed waitress we have ever encountered. The very good buffet meal was self service, the booking receipt made clear that all service charges and gratuities were included but the waitress was clearly upset at the $5 tip for fetching us 3 drinks. She condescendingly asked us if there was anything more she could possibly have done for us saying that she was sure we were nice people, implying that people who don't tip her well are clearly not nice. She walked away but obviously not satisfied came back for a second bite of the cherry. I then told her about being told that service charges and gratuities were included and this enraged her further saying the staff wanted a meeting with management about how the sales staff were selling the cruises. None of these internal conflicts are my concern and resent being harrassed and harrangued in this manner whilst on a supposedly romantic cruise. Hope waitress is happy now.
