Czego oczekiwać
1
Cliff Walk
We embark on a 3.5-mile walk of Rhode Island's most popular attraction. Along the way, we pass by many Gilded Age mansions and discuss the origin stories and peculiarities of the families that lived there.
2
Salve Regina University
Many of the buildings that comprise this Catholic University were once Gilded Age mansions or supporting buildings on the estate. Ochre Court and Vineland Estate are two former estates that were donated to the University when their owners finally couldn't bear the costs. Hear their stories as you walk past these elegant homes.
3
The Breakers
You will walk past the largest mansion in Newport, once the summer home to the Vanderbilt family. You may exit the Cliff Walk and tour the interior if you wish (separate fee applies).
4
Marble House
As you walk past this elaborate mansion, we will talk about its original owner, Mrs. Alva Vanderbilt, and how she tore open the previously closed door to Newport's polite society, reshaping its power structure.
5
Rough Point Museum
This mansion was the home of heiress and socialite Doris Duke, who led an eccentric lifestyle. Learn about "the richest little girl in the world," how she lived, and how she might have gotten away with murder (only the ghosts know for sure).

The app did lot know where we were. We had to manually forward it. Beautiful walk even without the app.

Hi. I'm sorry that your experience was frustrating. When the app does not recognize a user's location, it is generally for one of two reasons. You may have used the Virtual Playback function, which is designed for a user to listen while not on-site, or the location services function in your smartphone is set to disallow the app to use your location. Again, apologies for the frustration. Please feel free to call or text me at the number on your ticket if you feel a refund is in order. Gregg

App still needs some work. It continually indicated we were “lost” and told us so, when we were actually on the correct path. Operator error???? LOL That being said, the information and stories were excellent !

Hi Ann. Sorry that the app gave you some trouble. This tour gets pretty heavy use and I have not heard of any other issues with the Cliff Walk tour, so I'm not quite sure what gave you the trouble. However, I do understand that technology can sometimes glitch or fail. I'm happy to refund you, if you like. Just give me a call or text and I'll send it to you. My cell number should be on your Viator ticket/email.
