Was very disappointed that I was not able to receive a refund for my ticket. I had purchased tickets for my family for Wednesday June 7th last week. Due to the smoke in NYC nothing was visible at the top. I was strongly advised by customer service at the observatory to cancel the reservation instead of going to the top. We were told they would not be able to do anything about the refund on their end, that I would have to contact Tripadvisor. I cancelled it immediately but was not able to contact Tripadvisor until Friday June 9th. Tripadvisor said they couldn’t do anything about it and that I would have to contact their suppliers, Legends. Was not able to get ahold of anyone there. Hoping this can be corrected.

Good views, fast elevator but honestly enjoyed the Empire State Building experience so much more. Used our Sightseeing Pass. At the kiosk it wanted $20 extra pp for an immediate entry time, we opted for the time an hour and 10 ‘minutes later at no extra cost but went in immediately. They never questioned our tickets. So perhaps just beware of the typical tourist attraction money grab. It had the usual up-sell as soon as you were off the the elevator for an ipad that shows you what your looking at since the attraction has zero information posted and the typical photographer that you have to stop at. Depending what part of NYC you’re most keen to look at from above, pick your observation tower accordingly since there are so many.

The atrium and fountain were beautiful. However, the trip to the top of the tower was very anticlimactic. It was not worth the $44 I paid. It should have been $15 because there was noone giving a presentation. Also, the machine I was given to identify the different areas did not work well.
