Staff here completely ruined our experience! Every member of staff we were presented with were completely rude!! Only 1 member of staff was pleasant! We have saved up a lot of money to come to New York and have came across a lot of rude people in the street etc, but this is supposed to be a massive tourist attraction but again, your staff completely ruined our whole experience!!

After 9/11 it is an incredibly powerful and solemn place to be. When you’re up there and you look down, you reflect on how bad it must have been that day for people to jump from that height, it really hits you. In 1999 was incredibly lucky to have been able to be on top of the South Towers outdoor observation deck with my mum, I was 5yrs old. When you get past those immediate thoughts though, you’ll realise that the views are absolutely outstanding, the views of uptown Manhattan and the Hudson, along with the views of NJ, the Statue of Liberty and the Verrazano Bridge are second to none. It’s roughly the 6th time I have been up to the One World Observatory and will continue to go. One sour note that let the experience down slightly on my most recent trip, was a member of staff prior to riding the elevator up. I had priority tickets and was directed by a kind female member of staff to go to the Priority Lane, my wife and I walked through until a male member of staff grabbed mine and my wife’s shoulders and yanked us back rudely saying loudly “ you two, back of the like”. My wife is pregnant and the man who pulled her was lucky I didn’t put him on his backside. His excuse was “ you walked right passed me without showing me your vaccine pass and ID” I apologised but he did not acknowledge that, I stated I was British and certainly knew how to queue and that I wasn’t queue jumping, at this time there was no real queue either. I stated this is where I was told to go by the woman at the main door. I don’t know his name but it was average height with black frizzy hair in a ponytail. He should not be working with the general public. This kind of rudeness would certainly not have happened back home in the UK. Apart from that and the $6 bottle of water, the experience is fantastic.

So we originally scheduled at day that turned out to be overcast and no visibility. Once we got there the agent pro-actively offered to reschedule us to a better viewing day at no cost, which we did. Impressive service right there. When we came back it was an awe-inspiring experience. Even the queue to get the elevators was well done with disney world like scenes. The elevator ride is incredible both up and down. And once your up the views are breathtaking. I think we spent an hour at least just looking, finding various places and buildings, and just taking it in. Definitely worth the trip and cost.
