Visited here on our recent trip to New York. We had pre booked our tickets online before arriving and opted for tickets that would allow us in between 1-4pm and by pass the main queuing section. This was as exactly as it said and we were immediately through security and on our way up to the top. Once up top we were led into a room where a video was played and then a special surprise unravelled. Having got through this section we obtained a tablet each to help us identify landmarks from way up. The views were stunning and you were able to walk the complete 360* at the top to see what Manhatten and the surrounding areas had to offer. As we entered in around 3-3.30pm and had chosen this time specifically we were able to appreciate the views both in daylight hours and also sunset and nightfall. This gave a different perspective on the views but added to the enjoyment of the experience. This is a must whilst in New York.

We were not informed prior (bare in mind our ticket was at 2pm) that there was 0 visibility. We literally paid nearly $100 to go up in a lift and to see nothing. We were offered a swap to another day but we were going home the following day to the UK so this offer was pointless. Another couple from the UK was in the same boat as us. Why we were not offered a refund i have no idea - it was like paying for a very expensive museum to turn up and all the artefacts not be there - quite ridiculous! I wouldnt have minded if the tickets were cheap but they were not. I then went up to see nothing and then offered an ipad rental for the facts of the sights for $15 - not even free for basically seeing nothing! I really would like somebody to contact me in regards to getting a refund. I am sure it would have been amazing but circumstances such as the ones we had should have been allowed a refund - no questions asked!

No visability at the top of the tower which made queing simple. However I have never felt so upset when I took my family for a drink (which we made clear) and the staff were informed that we were not eating by pointing and whispering under their breath like we were putting them out by sitting on a table. I didn’t want to mention it to my family but it was upsetting and it would have ruined our trip. I was in New York to show my family why I went to Afghanistan so many times and pay our respects. It was just the restaurant staff who I found rude and belittling. I just hope that everyone has a better experience than we did.
