This is the first Manhattan by sail we have been on since 2019 and we were disappointed. The new docking area has many shops and restaurants to spend time while waiting to board. That is about the only plus to the current experience. The boarding was easy and the cruise left on time. The crew came across very new, inexperienced and disinterested in the cruise. The main sail was not raised for the 75 minute trip and we we were at a dead stop a few times that seemed to be a way to make the trip longer. Without the stops it would have been about an hour. We did get very close to the Statue of Liberty which offered some good photo ops. The bartender was efficient and the drinks were normal for NYC. We had two drinks and 2 waters and the bill was $40. There is a lot of fun potential but the current experience was just ok for us. Pre-2019 we sailed on the clipper 10+ times and experienced a much more engaging crew and a fun sailing experience.

Hi, I am sorry you were disappointed by your time with us… and I thank you for your past and enthusiastic support when we were sailing from our previous location. Alas, inflationary pressures have affected us as well and we had to realign the pricing of our consumables to reflect that. Because we are operating a vessel affected by elemental forces of Nature many factors determine how much time we can spend sailing on a given trip. A lack of wind or a very strong adverse current may require using the engine more on some trips than others in order to give our guests a proper experience and get out to the Statue and back in our allotted time. We have only been at our new location for about 2 weeks and are still adjusting to the route. The crew are excellent and very welcoming. It is a great trip and you get so much more room than being packed in like sardines on the ferry. It takes you nice and close to the statue so you can get good photographs. I would highly recommend this trip. We used it as part of our ‘Go City’ pass.

We had a wonderfull trip with the Clipper City. Great communication with Cindy at the ticket office and a friendly crew aboard the boat. Very recommendable!
