I am a public transport enthousiast and I enjoyed a lot the subway tour guided by AJ, who was a very friendly, knowledgable and attentive guide (helping a lost lady to navigate the subway while also taking care of the group). The subway hopping made the tour also a bit adventurous, as you had to saty alert not to get lost :D The only downside was that sometime it was hard to follow the commentary via the earphone due to the ambient noise, but I guess that's inevitable in the subway.

Subway tour offered great historical perspective about why NYC subway lines are the way they are today and why the decor and stations are as they are today. That part was awesome! I thought we might visit some closed to public areas which was disappointing because we didn't. Overall, great tour for the time and money just understand it is a history of the subway and you won't visit places you couldn't visit on your own.

Very interesting tour. The guide was extremely well prepared and knowledgeable. Not much walking involved, we rode between stations and heard explanations while standing on platforms, so little physical fitness is required. Dress lightly as the stations tend to be very hot because of the heat which gets airconditioned out of the trains. Depending on what musicians are trying to get money from subway riders by playing over the sound of the trains and announcements it can become very noisy so if you are noise-sensitive this may not be for you. But if you are interested in the history of New York City it is a must.
