Olympic National Park Tour z Seattle

Przegląd
Olympic National Park is well known for having several different ecosystems to explore: subalpine forest, wildflower meadows, temperate rain-forest, and the rugged Pacific Shore. This twelve hour tour allows you to sample each of these systems with the added advantage of having an experienced guide to answer any questions that may arise. Come explore tide pools along the coastal beaches, roam among old-growth forest, trek atop mountain ridges with breathtaking vistas and stand by glacier-birthed rivers and lakes. The tour begins on a leisurely ferry boat ride over the Puget Sound to the Olympic Peninsula. The exact itinerary will be curated by the tour guide however our first stop will usually find us at Hurricane Ridge where you will hike to an incredible view of the valley below and the snow-capped mountains in the distance. We will move on to Crescent Lake and the seasonally Sol Duc Valley, and a sandy beach along the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Please plan on walking six miles.

Optional park stop. Fall is most likely time to stop. A very pretty waterfall, old growth forest with with areas exhibiting temperate rain forest. Seasonal Salmon runs too, in autumn. hiking or if you bring your swimsuit you can soak in hot springs.

Dungeness Recreation Area
Optional Stop: If tide or time tables are not conducive to stop at Salt Creek Recreation Area a stop at Dungeness Spit will replace it. Dungeness spit is also a great beach and wildlife sanctuary. Hike and enjoy.

optional stops depending the day, waterfalls, big trees, the largest dam removal and wildlife rehabilitation project in the world.

Washington State Ferries
We go back to Seattle by ferry and after a long day we often see the sunset over the waters. Seeing Seattle loom larger and larger is a great way to end the day. They serve beer and Ivars's clam chowder as well on board.

I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone who would like to tour Olympic in a day out of Seattle - a feat I wouldn't have thought possible! It's a lot of ground to cover and a long day, but the tour is timed really well-paced and activities/stops are spaced out in such a way that I never felt rushed, or like we were driving endlessly. It was comfortable and thanks to Joel's great overview of the park, we were able to get a taste of what the area has to offer, from the beach to the forests and mountains. I appreciate that he was prepped with Junior Ranger activities (I collect my badges with pride!) and knew about Parks Passport stamp locations - so it's part of the tour if you want it, and I didn't have to be awkward about asking! I know we're barely scratching the surface of the massive park overall, but I truly didn't feel like I missed out on anything - instead, I walked away with incredible memories for a lifetime, and noted a few places on the list I'd like to revisit if I ever have more time in WA in the future, where I could spend a whole week out in the park or something! With such a short amount of time in my recent trip, I'm so pleased that I got to see such a natural marvel, and experience WA's ferries and scenery.
