Olympic National Park Tour z Seattle

Przegląd
Olympic National Park is well known for having several different ecosystems to explore: subalpine forest, wildflower meadows, temperate rain-forest, and the rugged Pacific Shore. This twelve hour tour allows you to sample each of these systems with the added advantage of having an experienced guide to answer any questions that may arise. Come explore tide pools along the coastal beaches, roam among old-growth forest, trek atop mountain ridges with breathtaking vistas and stand by glacier-birthed rivers and lakes. The tour begins on a leisurely ferry boat ride over the Puget Sound to the Olympic Peninsula. The exact itinerary will be curated by the tour guide however our first stop will usually find us at Hurricane Ridge where you will hike to an incredible view of the valley below and the snow-capped mountains in the distance. We will move on to Crescent Lake and the seasonally Sol Duc Valley, and a sandy beach along the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Please plan on walking six miles.

Sol Duc Falls
Optional park stop. Fall is most likely time to stop. A very pretty waterfall, old growth forest with with areas exhibiting temperate rain forest. Seasonal Salmon runs too, in autumn. hiking or if you bring your swimsuit you can soak in hot springs.

Dungeness Recreation Area
Optional Stop: If tide or time tables are not conducive to stop at Salt Creek Recreation Area a stop at Dungeness Spit will replace it. Dungeness spit is also a great beach and wildlife sanctuary. Hike and enjoy.

optional stops depending the day, waterfalls, big trees, the largest dam removal and wildlife rehabilitation project in the world.

Washington State Ferries
We go back to Seattle by ferry and after a long day we often see the sunset over the waters. Seeing Seattle loom larger and larger is a great way to end the day. They serve beer and Ivars's clam chowder as well on board.

Kevin is marvelous. He knows his stuff well, the history, timeline etc. We enjoyed the tour even under the circumstances(raining all day) but he did his best.

Basically a rain out. Tour should be canceled on days like this. Kevin was a great guide with a positive attitude but all that occurred were two short walks through huge puddles of water. Love the group size of 10 people in a smaller vehicle. Ferry ride was nice.

While we always try to make the most out of every tour, Washington State is well known for its wet weather, and sometimes rain is just part of the adventure here. If you’re looking to avoid the rain, we recommend visiting during the summer months when the weather is typically drier.
