Very informative of the history of Philadelphia. The Amish were interesting people. Our tour guide was really great and very chatty and friendly which really helped make an interesting trip. The bus driver was a happy person. I really think it was worth doing.

We really looked forward to this trip but are not convinced it was a good value for money. The guide raced us round a couple of sites and then we had time to kill. The 'Amish Village' we were taken to for lunch was unexpectedly a cutesy theme park style village with twee craft shops, etc - not faintly Amish. The 8 of us on the mini-bus had expected a home-cooked Amish style meal and not a cafeteria selling fast food (which we had to pay for). The highlight of the day was the visit to the Farmhouse - very interesting but, by the time we arrived, we had only a short time. On the way, we passed several Dutch style Pennsylvanian home-cooking restaurants with car parks and would suggest that one of these would have been better for lunch and we could have spent more time at the farmhouse museum. I would love to visit these places again but with a day for each - too much to pack into one day.

The Philadelphia tour is definitely worth it. The explanations of our great guide Sharon gave us a lot of meaning and brought us a lot. Rocky’s steps were very nice. The visit to the Amish village was a nice surprise, a very nice moment. Thanks again to Sharon.
