There are a lot of negative reviews on here but I wanted to share information about my experience. I booked airport transfers using Chase credit card points so I didn't know which car company would be used until after I booked.
If you do this, be sure to call Carmel ahead of time to make sure they have your correct phone number... The phone number they get by default is the travel agency Chase uses (Viator).
When we arrived at La Guardia, I called to find out where to go and was able to find our ride, which arrived within a few minutes. There was a sign in the window with my name which made it easy to find, but they also sent a photo of the driver and information about which kind of car, and I could track the location of the car online. The driver also called me when he was arriving.
With NY traffic, the ride took a while, the driver was courteous and wasn't talkative during the ride, which was fine with us.
For the return trip from our hotel, I got a text the morning of, with a link to find information near arrival time The car arrived 5 minutes early. This driver was a little more talkative, and gave us some interesting information about NYC and the areas we were passing as we headed to JFK.
Based on this experience I would have no trouble at all recommending or using Carmel for airport transfers in the future.
