This company has incompetent dispatchers. I made a reservation online to get a ride from La Guardia to midtown Manhattan. I followed the instructions given in the confirmation email and waited to call the company until we had received our bags. When we got to the designated pickup area, we waited for 20 minutes, so I called again and was sent a text with the number of the vehicle assigned to me, along with the make and model of the vehicle and the name of the driver. I was told the driver would be there in “4 minutes.” When 4 minutes became 15, I called AGAIN and was told the driver would be there in 2 minutes. This time, they were right, and the driver showed up. The problem was that his app showed a DIFFERENT CLIENT with a different destination. The driver didn’t want to go without having the correct client, blah blah blah, and he called dispatch to clarify the situation, and the dispatcher HUNG UP ON HIM. I can only surmise that the dispatcher was xenophobic because the driver speaks with a heavy foreign accent. I ended up calling dispatch directly myself to explain the mistake and have it corrected, which it was. Dispatch assigned the job to the driver and we were finally able to leave, 45 minutes after we called them initially. By this time, traffic has gotten terrible and it took us over an hour to get to Midtown. I will never use Carmel again! It’s a shame because I used to use them regularly, before the pandemic.
