We were referred to Duk Out by our hotel concierge and utilized their services for two day trips from Scottsdale with our family of 5.
First, we were assigned Jason for our day trip to Sedona on 6/5. We were picked up from our hotel in a large 15 passenger touring van. The van was clean and well maintained and included snacks, supplies, and cold water. On our drive to Sedona, Jason provided educational commentary about the area. We stopped at Montezuma’s Castle on our way. In Sedona, we had an included lunch at the Vault with a $30 per person allowance paid for from our tour price. After lunch, we walked around the downtown Sedona area and explored a few souvenir shops etc. Then, we headed to Pink Jeep Tours for a 2-Hr run of Coyote Canyon. After the Pink Jeep Tour, we met back up w Jason and walked around a bit more and then finished up with ice cream. We then returned to our van and Jason drove us back to our hotel. Overall it went smoothly and Jason was a knowledgeable and flexible guide.
Next, on 6/8, we were assigned to Phil for a Grand Canyon day trip. Phil picked us up at 6am in the same van that we used for the Sedona trip. The van was restocked and cleaned. We started our almost 4 hour journey right on time, and made our first stop at around 8am in Flagstaff at a cafe to pick up sandwiches for a picnic later in the day. After that, we continued towards the Grand Canyon and made a stop at the Cameron Trading Post. Phil refueled while we shopped and then picked us up and we continued on. Our first stop at the Grand Canyon was at the Watchtower. We made two additional stops at the Grand Canyon including Mather’s Point. We had our picnic lunch at benches near Mather’s Point. Phil provided useful insights about the Canyon as well as warnings about pestering wild life like the squirrels which were aggressive. We spent about 2 hours at the Canyon. Afterwards, Phil drove us to the Grand Canyon Airport where we met up with our helicopter pilot guide from Maverick Helicopters. We started our helicopter flyover of the Grand Canyon around 145pm and finished at around 230pm. Phil was waiting for us when we landed and we made some bathroom pitstops before starting our journey back to the hotel. We made good time on the return, as we made only one rest, stretch, bathroom stop en route. Total travel time on the return was about 3.5 hours. Phil was also a knowledgeable and flexible guide.
We would recommend Duk Out.
