Czego oczekiwać

Crystal River

Upon arrival at the dive shop, guests will be fitted for wetsuits and asked to watch a brief video from US Fish and Wildlife outlining their encounter with the manatees. The captain and guide will then take the group to the boat and embark all passengers and give a short safety brief. Once underway, the guide will further explain how to interact with the manatees once in the water and fit the guests with their masks and snorkels. While transiting to the swim areas, the captain and guide will present information about the area wildlife and what guests can expect to see during your tour. They will also answer questions and take pictures along the way. The guide will stay with the group the entire time, ensuring that the guests get the most out of their experience, all while taking photos and videos of your adventure!

The tour with Captain Ron and Lauren was FANTASTIC! They brought us to a perfect place where the manatees were swimming all around us. We had our 7 year old daughter who was a bit nervous about swimming with the manatees, but Lauren took great care of her and made her feel at ease. It was an amazing experience. In additional to see the manatees, Captain Ron and Lauren provided a wealth of information regarding the manatees. An extra was bonus was the photos that Lauren took of us and the manatees and then had a flash drive with the photos and videos for us at the end of the tour. This tour was the highlight of our trip!

I've always wanted to swim with manatees, and this trip was a fantastic opportunity to experience incredibly close encounters with them. Captain Ron and first mate Lauren were both amazing-- funny, friendly, informative, and super helpful. There are far fewer manatees to see in the Crystal River area later in the season,, so I wasn't hopeful about even spotting any. But Ron and Lauren were relentless in tracking them down and guiding us in the water to get the best view while still maintaining "manatee-friendly" rules. Coming almost face to face with a manatee feeding on the grassy bottom was a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

This was our last day of our trip to Florida and what a way to end it! Captain Ron and our guide Lauren were amazing. They were friendly, funny, and extremely knowledgeable about the Crystal River and its wonderful wildlife. Not only did we get to see manatees but we had a baby manatee swim right next to us. My teenage daughter said it best "It was a once in a lifetime experience." Gulf Coast Expeditions exceeded our expectations and we will be back!
