It is really hard to choose which is my favorite part of this awesome tour. From pick-up at our AirBnB front door, throughout the day visiting the different wineries, to being dropped off hours later, the experience was the best wine tour I/we have ever had. We were celebrating my daughter's 30th birthday and I wanted this to be very special for her. Scott picked us up and greeted us with a smile and very gregarious personality which set the tone for what would be a perfect day of wine tasting. The wineries we visited were all very different from each other, yet so perfect for the tour. We started at a winery with a most knowledgable tasting room manager who took the time to give us the back story of the winery, the wines, the process, etc. We were given quite the education about the grapes, how they grow, what happens after they are harvested, etc. and we loved every minute of it! Being a private tasting for just the two of us, we drank in the awesome wine and the amazing stories. We had a lovely lunch al fresco before heading to the next winery. Scott (our host) was delightful in pointing out scenery along the way, engaging in conversation, and gracious with our celebratory nature. :) The next two wineries were delightful as well. We met with the winemaker and learned even more from him. Scott made sure we always had enough water, took photos, and stopped so we could take in some of the scenery along the coastline. I can't say enough about this wonderful wine tasting experience. I could not have asked for a better day to celebrate my daughter's birthday. I definitely recommend this tour with Sustainable Wine Tours to anyone wanting a private tasting tour. Time absolutely well spent!

We were fortunate to have booked the private wine tour for 4 guests on July 22 and chose to focus on Santa Rita Hills. We were met by Steven at our hotel in a Tesla SUV and it only got better as the day progressed. Steven is personable and engaging. Knowledgeable about wine and the wineries, the drive to the first winery just flew by. All three wineries we went to that day were in beautiful settings. The first two were in beautiful, peaceful outdoor settings where we sampled several varietals (Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, sparkling wines). The hosts were engaging and friendly and the wines excellent. We had our lunch outdoors at the second winery which was also a pleasant experience and the food Steven picked up was excellent. Our third stop was a true gem. We saw a beautiful facility and sampled the best Pinot Noir we have tasted as well as excellent Grenache, Syrah and surprisingly for a US winery an Albarino. Our host (the owner and winemaker) was incredibly hospitable and friendly, and we truly appreciated the experience. To top things off, Steven took us to one more winery because we had mentioned enjoying Petit Verdot and he knew a winemaker that makes 100% Petit Verdot as well as a blend with Sangiovese. It was a great way to end a wonderful day. We would absolutely tour with Sustainable Wine Tours again.

We have been on many wine tours across California, as well as many in France and Italy. Bar none, this was the best wine tour experience we have ever had. Scott, an extremely nice man, who clearly loves what he does -- very passionate about his work. That enthusiasm signaled just an unforgettable day of touring 3 of the top vineyards/wineries in Santa Barbara. These were unique, very private, customized and personalized experiences. How do you beat having a wine tasting given by the winemaker and family member -- in the family's own home?! Scott has clearly developed some very close relationships with these wineries, and this all translates into a one of a kind experience. We all loved it and we will definitely be back.
