Escape from the crowded tourist areas for a private, 90-minute, 1-on-1 surf lesson near Lahaina, Maui. Choose from an early-, mid-, or late-morning time frame. This surf session will focus on water safety, proper surf technique, surfing style, and etiquette. The experienced, professional instructor guarantees students will stand up, catch a wave, and leave the beach as a certified surfer. All lessons are private so they will never combine guests from separate parties. All the necessary equipment — rash guard, state-of-the-art soft-top board, and reef shoes — included.

My 7 year old has always wanted to learn to swim(since our first trip to HI when he was 4). This was his first surf lesson ever! We didn’t have great weather for the day I booked but Kane still made it a great experience for my son and he fell in love!!! Kane kept my son on his board since the surf was tougher than normal. I loved how they kept safety top of mind! We definitely would have done a 2nd lesson with them but we switched hotels and moved down to Kihei for the rest of our trip and with a 2.5 year old with us the drive was a little longer from that direction. Definitely recommend for beginning surfing lessons for kids!!

We are in Hawaii for a two-week vacation celebrating my youngest son's high school graduation. My son loves the outdoors and has talked excitedly about surfing while we are on Maui. We live in the mountains of North Georgia so aren't at the beach daily or even monthly. I was very concerned that he get a surfing instructor who was safety conscious while allowing a good time. I liked the reviews and the information that I found on the RIvers To The Sea website. My son's surfing lesson was yesterday. He had a great time, managed to stay up on the board a few times and really enjoyed himself. Jason did a great job of verbally instructing him, making him comfortable and just generally helping him to relax and learn. We all really liked Jason especially our surfer dude :) We couldn't have asked for a better surf instructor than Jason. We highly recommend him!

Jason took my 6 year old son out on a private lesson and he was up on the board in no time and continued to stand up thru out the lesson. Could not be more satisfied with the lesson
