WHO WE ARE?
Old Plank is a boutique luxury sailing charter & aquatic expedition company with gourmet 5 star cuisine. Founded by Captain Matthew Mancini, we live by the currents, plan by the tides, and follow the sun.

WHAT DO WE DO?
We take our guests out into a safe sailing environment on the Santa Monica Bay or beyond, where they have the opportunity to experience first-hand the joy of sailing, the rhythm of the ocean and unique pairings of gourmet foods and wines in the sweet briny sea air. We catch sunrises, bake in the mid-day sunshine and relax as the sunsets and the moon rises under starry skies. We play with seals, dolphins, and whales and when appropriate catch fresh seafood to enjoy al-fresco. We are living the Mediterranean dream in Southern California and sharing the experience with valued guests who leave the experience as family

Our mission is to bring the Mediterranean lifestyle to Southern California’s ideal year-round climate.

We had an amazing experience with Matthew. We did a 2 hour sail at 10:00am and it was lovely. Matthew was a super nice host offering drinks (wine and other non-alcoholic) plus some light snacks. His boat is immaculate and the ride felt comfortable and safe throughout. He let our kids help with the sailing, gave us some great information, and also left us to just be as a family. It was comforting and meditative. He was great with the kids. Best thing is that he also has jet skis and we will be returning soon the jet ski with him. Highly recommend!!

The trip was very relaxing and well thought through. The sail boat experience is a must try and we were lucky to end up with a great captain that offered a great experience!

My husband and I booked a Sunday afternoon sail with Matt and we had the time of our lives! It was super relaxing and fun, I would totally book it again. He is super chill and nice, gave us clear instructions on where/when to park the car, which was perfect. The appetizers he put together were delicious and the wine was good too. He helped us feel comfortable walking to the front of the boat where my husband and I spent the latter half of the sail taking selfies and waving to people on other boats. Ahoy! 100% recommend!!
