Private Tombstone Arizona and San Xavier Mission Day Trip

Przegląd
Travel back in time to one of the most famous Old West towns with a day on the streets of Tombstone. The home of the famous OK Corral lets you experience the lives of outlaws, businessmen, miners, and cattlemen who flocked to the area for a chance to strike it rich on the frontier.
A ride straight from your hotel takes you out of the city for your visit to the historic town. While you're in Tombstone, pay a visit to the original gathering spots for outlaws and gunmen, like Big Nose Kate's Saloon and the Bird Cage Theatre, which earned a reputation as the wickedest nightspot between Basin Street and the Barbary Coast. True to the reputation of the Wild West, gunfights and stand-offs were a regular occurrence, and many of their victims are buried at the infamous Boot Hill Cemetery—named for the men who died and were buried, with their boots still on. On your way back, visit the White Dove of the Desert; one of the Southwest's best-preserved missions at San Xavier del Bac.

1
Mission San Xavier del Bac
Our first stop as we head into the wild west is the White Dove of The Desert; one of the Southwest’s best preserved missions at San Xavier del Bac. Founded in 1692, the San Xavier Mission is still in operation and allows guests to marvel at the ornate craftsmanship showcasing both Spanish and Native influences. Original frescoes and statuary are still on display within the mission for guests to admire as well.
2
O.K. Corral
The Gunfight at the O.K. Corral was a 30-second shootout between lawmen and members of a loosely organized group of outlaws called the Cowboys that took place at about 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 1881
3
Big Nose Kate's Saloon
Historic destination for Southern & Mexican fare, live country music & Wild West reenactments.
4
Boothill Graveyard
For those souls unfortunate enough to be on the losing end of those gun battles, they were buried at the infamous Boot Hill Cemetery. The cemetery aptly got its name from those who died with their boots on and were buried as such.

Great communication and on time pickup from our hotel. Dan had answers for all of our questions about the scenery and could name all the mountains and plants/trees along the way. San Xavier Mission is a must see as well as tombstone. Will definitely use Detours again next time we are in AZ!

Private tours are definitely the way to go. The personal connection with the driver and the additional knowledge you get with the private tours is what makes this so special. Our trip to Tombstone spent a lot of time in vehicle traveling to and from Scottsdale. However it wasn’t wasted time as we were able to learn about Arizona, it’s history, plant life, Indian reservations and a lot more. Something you don’t normally get with a big tour. Also was at our own pace so we never felt rushed.

We couldn't agree more! With a private tour, you allow our guides to solely focus on what's really important - you! Not only do our guides do an excellent job of showing you around the Southwest, but they do an even better job of personalizing our private tours based on our guest's interests and requests. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with DETOURS, we hope to see you again someday! Until next time, Nathan

Montana was our driver and he was super kind, nice, patient and well informed. I learned more about the Earl’s and the history of Tombstone during this trip than from any other source. The town is very well preserved and fun to explore. The re-enactment was great. We also saw the San Xavier Mission which is awe inspiring but the best of all the day’s adventures was watching the Kurt Russell movie, Tombstone. Great fun. Highly recommend and ask for Montana!

Howdy, partner! Montana is quite the guide when it comes to exploring and guiding around our guests to the city of Tombstone. With each and every tour we hear guests commenting on how pleasantly surprised they are of by the amount of history and culture! We knew that, of course. It's why we love this tour so much! The San Xavier is nearly the cherry on top of the old western, Tombstone themed cake. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us out on the road, all of us here at DETOURS appreciates it!
