Raft the Blue River Rare Gem of Colorado Closest to Breckenridge

The Blue River is a treasure of the central Colorado high country. The river rises south of Breckenridge near Quandary Peak at 14,200 feet, and flows downward through the town of Silverthorne where our float begins. The river rushes through the White River National Forest, and the scenery surrounding the river is stunning, with tall trees and lush pasturelands. Sections of this pristine river are renowned for trout fishing, but we love the exciting class l to lll rapids (sometimes even class lV at high flows!) You'll see wildlife like bald eagles and osprey, moose, deer, and elk, or maybe a beaver. This river will not disappoint!

This was a smaller operation than when we’ve rafted before, and we appreciated the individual attention, including that our family of four had our own raft. The trip leader and guides were thorough and efficient, and lots of fun. Our guide, Justin, was skilled and very friendly. We enjoyed getting to know him on our trip.

We are definitely NOT an operation that needs to use several full-sized school buses per trip. We are proud to be an all-season guide service, with our specialists guiding our guests everywhere from backcountry ski slopes and up 14,000' peak ascents, to, yes, our favorite rafting trips! We had a group of 5 guys ages 30 to 35. This was an awesome white water experience. Our trip was on the Blue River with Nathan and Colin. The rapids were great, the scenery was amazing and the guides were awesome! Highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for a great half day rafting trip!

When this river runs, it is a beautiful, scenic treat. This river runs through forested areas past boulders, and is the ultimate mountain-y river experience. In the background you spot some of Colorado's famous ski peaks. The quintessential "mountain stream" experience.

My daughter and I had a wonderful time on this rafting trip. Our guide, Tyler did a terrific job both before the rafting and during with his important safety information, ability on the river and fun personality! Great trip. Highly recommend this company and their guides.

The Blue River is such a gem - so close to major tourist areas, but off the main highways so you really feel like you're getting away. You see a backdrop of towering mountain peaks as you paddle past hushed forested areas and private river access areas. So much fun! Glad you came out with us!
