Our tour guide (Mike) was incredible. He did not shy away from discussing some of the harrowing labor practices during the mine's active years, and he really helped cultivate a sense of empathy for people in he past. He was incredibly knowledgeable and great with the kids on our tour. The entire experience was interesting.

Loved your mines! But the tour was short, I wish I would spent a little more time in the mines. The tour guide really looked like he wanted to go home, which I totally get, but I spent a lot of money to be there. But, however, I will say that something unexpected happened which lengthened my commute, and the people there had no issue moving up my time slot. I'm really thankful for that, it happened literally instantaneously, and they were so nice about it. I came here for a birthday and everyone had a really good time. My only main complaint is that I thought the price was a bit steep for the experience. The mines were definitely cool, and everyone had a blast, but $50 seems like quite a lot, if they were like $35 it would seem a lot more reasonable.

I am sorry that you thought the tour was too short, we give 45mins for the actual tour in the mine itself and then the tour also includes the gold panning afterwards, which you can do as long as you like! This is why our tour is priced at $48.95! I am really glad you enjoyed your birthday celebrations and had a great time with us!

It was interesting to see how the old timers worked. Misleading to say “descend “ into the mine, when you actually walk into a horizontal tunnel at ground level. Guide did a good job. There is no active mining going on.
