The San Antonio Super Pass was ideal for the 2 full days that we had to spend in the city. Included with the pass is the use of a hop on/hop off double-decker bus from CitySightseeing which makes 19 stops throughout the city. Going from stop to stop, there is recorded information about San Antonio along with lively commentary given by the driver, such as T.C. The pass is good for 2 days and is available online or from the Visitor's Center near the Alamo. Also included is admission to the Buckhorn Saloon & Texas Ranger Museum - a must-see attraction with the largest collection of taxidermied animals I've ever seen. A classic River Walk cruise and admission to The tower of the Americas Space Needle and observation deck and 4-D movie complete the package.
My husband and I found it useful to " take the loop" around the city and then we made up our minds as to where we wanted to hop off. Buses usually arrive at each stop every 15-20 minutes. However, make sure that you note the streets where the bus stops, as there is not always signage designating a bus stop. if you find yourself wandering without a clue, just ask a local - we found San Antonians to be quite helpful and delightful.
