I want to start off by saying that my guide, David, was great. He was nice and knowledgeable despite having only lived in the city for 3 years. I was travelling alone and he made me feel comfortable with the other guest and answered all of our questions.
The food was OK at best. The first stop was for a "Mission Style Burrito" which being a Mission District food tour was essential. But that style of burrito is just a burrito without rice. Nothing special, but a decent burrito. Then we had Lumpia, a Filipino treat, which was the best food on the tour. It was actually quite delicious.
The next stop was a Japanese/Chinese restaurant called Little Kite. A red flag was instantly raised when they had forks on the tables and even David mentioned the service was terrible. We arrived and had gyoza. This deep fried appetizer is hard to mess up, but it was fairly flavourless. It was the worst gyoza I've ever had. A quick google reveals that Little Kite has 3.1 star rating out of 5. That's one of the worst restaurants in the city for reference.
After that we had some decent clam chowder at an oyster bar... not oysters. Then for desert there was forgettable ice cream and a cookie.
At the end of it all I was satiated but not full. I needed a snack to tide me over until dinner.
But we saw some interesting spots and nice murals/graffiti. It would have been better as just a walking tour.
