The popular Truman was a very kind and generous tour guide. We had a little difficulty locating the store front using Google maps walking directions. It's in a more industrial area. They were ready for us when we arrived with helmets, bikes and reusable water bottles prepared for our adventure. Be sure and wear your sunscreen. Simple bike instructions were given, since we hadn't ridden electric bikes before and we were given a little time to warm up and practice. Electric bikes are very popular and a great way to see the expansive Santa Barbara area, while enjoying the outdoors and getting some exercise too. However, it's not inexpensive! Prices are a premium in this locale. All totaled, we spent about $46 per person, per hour including tip. We didn't have a car and wanted an overall tour of the area that would be fun and unique, and we thought this would be a good fit for a teen daughter and mom duo and keep us safe and distanced given the pandemic. Truman tried to gear the tour to our interests (history and nature) and we covered a lot of ground, while taking a few rest breaks. We were disappointed not to see the SB Mission, since this was one of the main reasons we took the tour per the advertisement, but were told it was too far and would take too long to go there. We did ride by the Presidio and City Hall. Since we were not interested in the wine and bar scene, Truman did a good job of pointing out other places that might be good to explore according to our tastes and watched out for our safety. He even took us up to City College since our daughter was exploring schools in the area and shared his experience. It's sometimes difficult to hear when the guide talks while we are riding, even though he tried to turn our way, we still missed lots of bits and pieces. The narrative was a little heavy on tales of the rich and famous, but perhaps that goes with the territory. The owner, Mitch, was super friendly, nice and down to earth and gave us a ride on his way to deliver bikes down town, plus some good lunch recommendations. We were so grateful! My daughter said it was really fun, and even though she gets exercise induced asthma sometimes when riding her bike at home, she had no trouble with riding the electric bikes.

Hi thanks for the feedback! Glad to hear you all had a good time on our electric bike tour. We are sorry to hear you were unable to see the mission. The mission is a little out of the way and can be tough to see sometimes based on the pace of the tour and limits some of the other fun places to see along Santa Barbara. At the same time, if the mission was something high on your list to see, we should have been able to easily accommodate that request. Overall, glad to hear you all ultimately enjoyed your time touring around Santa Barbara on the electric bikes!
