I always like to do food tours as a way of getting to really know a new city. Fran, our guide, was very knowledgeable about Charleston and you could tell she really enjoyed cooking. We went to 5 stops and had enough food for a meal after all 5. At first I was disappointed that we went to 2 chain restaurants but we ended up having dishes that were popular in Charleston (and they were very tasty) so I overlooked that. The final 3 stops were all local and the best!!!!

Very tasty food at each stop, but the favorite was the grits at The Broken Egg! Loved the spice store stop and the large variety of spices. We would have liked more commentary and history of Charleston. Our guide was very nice, bit did not provide much commentary. The candy from the last stop was really good, but we were just handed A sack outside the store and did not get to go in. All food stops had very accommodating wait staff. Overall an enjoyable tour.

A nice tour by Nancy with goof commentary in the influence of food on Charleston life over time. I would have like a bit more commentary on the city when we were walking between food stops.
