This self-guided, self-paced GPS audio walking tour will explore Carmel-by-the-Sea’s spectacular Scenic Road. We will walk along the bluff pathway above Carmel Beach and take in the magnificent view of Carmel Bay from Pebble Beach to Carmel Point and Point Lobos.

This tour will begin and end at the historic La Playa Carmel Hotel located at Camino Real and Eighth Avenue. Other attractions include the North Dunes Habitat Restoration Project and the Carmel Beach Overlook. We will also see the home where Clint Eastwood lived while he served as Mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea between 1986 and 1988 and learn more about his connection to Carmel as well as learn about some of Carmel’s distinctive architecture and storied past.

I felt a connection to great people of the past when hearing the stories of the great writers, artists and others who lived and socialized in the beautiful houses on the tour.

The two of us bought a pass online and used it to walk the beautiful scenes and homes of Carmel. The quality of the app as well as the narrated content was great. We will use the same experience in other destinations.

I cannot say enough good things about this audio tour! I highly recommend it! We actually did 2 others in addition to this one (Off the Beaten Path and Fairytale Cottages) during our time in Carmel, and they were all fantastic! The format was easy to follow and understand. We learned so much about Carmel and the history of the houses and different locations around town. We would have missed so much of it had we not taken this tour! It takes you to so many beautiful things to see. I vote this as a "must do" while you're there! Just wear your walking shoes!
