A warm and professional welcome from the friendly team at Island Ferry before boarding the boat with our Captain Joe. All the safety vests fitted for the children (ours are 6 and 9) and we were off. A nice slow cruise out of the marina with Captain Joe explaining the wildlife, housing and other interesting points of interest. On leaving the Marina waters we were out to the open water. The boat was lovely, really comfortable and because it's a maximum of six guests you get a really nice, personal feeling to the cruise - very relaxing. Almost immediately we spotted some dolphins, the boat slowed and we got to feel the full experience of being surrounded by the great creature. Engine back on, but not for long, more dolphins - focus on trying to take a picture! A few more spottings before moving over to shell key. Before we got there we had a radio from the sister boat as they had spotted a manatee - a quick blast over the water and there was the manatee, head out of water periodically, circling the boat having a proper inspection of us all - amazing experience seeing this animal. Captain Joe beached the ship and helped us disembark before our peaceful stroll along the shore looking for shells and sand dollars - amazing sands and shells and the kids (and us) loved it. With time up we blasted back with the kids being treated to a (closely supervised) boat steering adventure - thank you Captain Joe. As guests of the marina we had a lovely lunch in the Grill restaurant before leaving. A great experience with a really organised, professional company and crew. Highly recommend!
