We are a FUN SURF LA surf school based on Venice Beach. Our goal is for you to have an excellent experience surfing, whether it's your first time trying surfing or you are trying to advance your skills. For the first 30-40 minutes we will be training on the beach - then it’s one hour with the instructors in the ocean. The remaining time is yours to practice your skills and have fun with the surfboards that we provide you.

We’ll be giving lessons on Venice Beach - one of the most famous beaches in California. You’ll be able to not only enjoy the ocean and get surfing experience, but also explore the unique spirit of the eccentric cultural hub of Venice Beach.

OUTSTANDING! John, our instructor was so informative and patient. This was a 4 person group lesson. John took us out individually for our own turn to "catch the wave"! He was right by our side to help us thru the larger waves. Unfortunately we did not carry our phones down to the water's edge , so we never got to snap a picture of our attempts at standing on the boards. John did outfit us with wetsuits, he gave two each to wear. I also wore fleece leggings and fleece top,,,,,so I had three layers on over a swim suit, and I was not cold,,,,cool maybe, but definitely not COLD. Make sure to have flip flops, towels, and dry change of clothes,,,there are public restrooms to change, and showerheads outside.

Also, it’s good to know the wetsuits and extra layers kept you comfortable in the cool water—definitely important for a good time! Next time, you'll have to snap those pics for some fun memories. Would you consider going surfing again with the group?

John was a great instructor. The weather was rather cold and wet, so he gave us two wet suits each to keep us as warm as possible. Easy meeting spot. Great fun!
