More than just an adventure, this educational tour takes you into a world that few can ever experience. The open ocean world of sharks!

We take you three miles off shore, where you can observe Galapagos and Sandbar sharks in their natural environment from the safety of a floating cage. No scuba experience is necessary, you enter the cage from above and stay on the surface using a mask and snorkel. Large Poly Glass windows let you peer into the open ocean and watch the sharks as they glide gracefully through the deep blue. To be in the presence of such awe inspiring animals will change the way you see sharks forever.

Everything about this experience was amazing, the crew/ staff were super cool and knew a lot about the sharks . They also gave me super helpful GoPro tips for when I went down into the cage and filmed me getting into the water and reaching out to the sharks for me. I definitely recommend this tour and company as a MUST DO for Oahu go'ers! Ps, not kid friendly (as kids may be afraid of the deep water and get sea sick easily).

I only had one afternoon on Oahu before leaving on a tiger cruise the next morning with my Navy sailor son. Due to flight delays, I landed on Oahu about the time we were supposed to be meeting the boat for the shark dive. I received a call from the boat captain as I was deboarding the plane, asking me if I was going to make it - I told him I didn't think so because we were still 45 mins to an hour away. He said they would be happy to re-book me for a different day but after I told him I only had the afternoon, he said "maybe next time." I don't know about anyone else, but I've been to Hawaii twice and will not likely get to go a third time and told him so. He said he was sorry we wouldn't be able to make it and we hung up. Five minutes later he called back and said he had room on the next trip and if we came straight there, we could make it in time. We did and were so glad we did! The crew was extremely nice and knowledgeable. One of the most memorable experiences I've ever had! However, if you are prone to motion sickness, prepare for this ahead of time. None of our tour group got sick but several were queasy at one point. Even on a "calm" day, seas can be 4 to 7 feet.

I scheduled the trip for the 11am Shark Encounter with a go pro rental. When we arrived at the harbor we found our boat immediately and our guides were very laid back and friendly. Unfortunately, they didn't have the go pro I rented, which would have really been a make or break for the trip if I hadn't brought my underwater phone case. The trip out was really, really rough because the waves and swells were pretty bad that day, which truly made the cage all the more overwhelming. I'm used to the water and swells and so is my group but the water may have been a bit too bad to take us out in, as we were being tossed around in the cage a lot. There were about 10 sharks which was incredible and they were very curious, so it was a really adventurous experience! We all did get pretty seasick, though, and we work on cruise ships, so we were pretty used to it, which is why it caught us off guard! Make sure you take Dramamine, whether you typically get sea sick or not.
