The tour was amazing, and our tour guide, Dennis was great! He told us about a lot of Hawaiian history which was interesting to listen to and treated us like family. It was an amazing experience, malaho Dennis!

Anyway, I was lucky to have found Sherry, my guide. Beyond what she talks about as a regular guide, I get the impression that she herself has enjoyed talking about everything she can about growing up on the island, raising children, surfing as a hobby and spending time with her family. It was a great day for the whole family to hear about education in Hawaii, housing in Native Hawaiian, surf spots on Oahu based on your own and your family's experiences, shopping information, and sightseeing programs that would be useful if you went somewhere else. Lunch and snacks were included in the cost, so you could have a good meal without worrying about what to order. Sometimes, when you go on a tour like this, you feel like you're running out of time, but Shelley takes a good look at each participant and asks if you want to park your car in a place that's easily accessible to the elderly, or if your kids really want to eat shaved ice, and she says, "Sure, all at once!" I thought that even though they forgave me, it was only because of the guides who really knew the island that I was able to make sure that I made all the journeys on time and without the stress of traffic. Unfortunately, I couldn't join another tour due to limited dates, but if I could visit Oahu again, I would love to join another program at Shelley's request!
