On our Alaskan Cruise one of our stops was Sitka, which is a very cute little town but the highlight of our visit was this tour. We hardly every take the excursions offered by the cruise line, we always try local companies and this time we hit the jackbox! Sikta Wildlife Tours are the best!, they are smaller group tours with most tour guides that have grown up in Sitka so they really know what they are talking about. Our tour was later in the day so we first walked around the downtown area, which really doesn't take to long, after that we met up with our tour guide and the other folks we where with, it was a small van with about 8 of us in it. We first drove around town with our guide gaving us some history of Sitka, we spotted a bald eagle so we pulled over to take some photos, then it was off to the Rain Forest and Totem Polls. We took a cool walk through the rain forest with our guide telling about the plants and trees, then it was on to the Totem Polls. Then we took a drive out to the Fortress of the Bears (which was my favorite) if you love bears then you need to visit and see the great work they are doing for the ophan bears. Then it was off to the Raptor Center and see the beautiful bald eagles that they rehab, again great work these folks do for the birds. It was great to spend the day in Sitka and learn about the people, the animals, the rain forest and so much more. This company does a great job, very orgainzed and knowledgable. A lot of folks won't take tours that are not through the cruise line they are one because they have always been told that if they are late the ship won't wait for them, but please remember these local tour comapanies do this for a living and know all the ships port hours and when you need to be back, they will never let you be late. So next time try a local tour company, you may even save yourself some money :)

All our guides this year is locally from Sitka and have been here for years or even grown up in Sitka like I have.If your ever back in Sitka we would love to be part of your visit again! You are so right about the ship scaring people on the ship saying local vendors will not get you back on time.We have been doing tours for 18 years now and have NEVER been back late.Again thank you for helping others learn about our company!

Fantastic tour seeing the town of Sitka,bears bald eagles and totem poles! Go directly through the company not your cruise ship. Well worth the cost.

This was a wonderful tour and birthday celebration, most especially due to our amazing guide, Lindsay!! As a native of Sitka, she knows every inch of this beautiful place and shared her joyful knowledge with us along the way. I highly recommend the premium tour. There were only 7 of us in a comfortable small van. You will see unforgettable sights!!
