Inside information from an insider. Prompt, professional, courteous, and informative. Brian gave us a very thorough tour of the city, complete with his personal commentary about the history and significance of everything you'll see. Pickup and drop-off were right on schedule.
Being in a minivan is much more personal than a big bus or a shuttle bus. It's quieter, and you can interact with Brian, your guide. With a small group, it's more flexible -- so you can leave stops when you like without waiting for everyone else. Or, you can stay longer if you're having fun without feeling pressured by a large group.
The minivan can go places that the tour buses and shuttles cannot.
We got to see all the same things that the other tours go to -- but in a more laid back fashion, unhurried, and with the ability to interact closely and ask questions. There are a couple of stops on the tour that you won't get with the bus tours.
Brian is an easygoing professional who knows what he's doing.
I recommend this trip to anyone who wants to see San Francisco in an efficient and enjoyable manner. Four hours passed by very quickly, but we never felt rushed.
Brian even provided a delicious snack for each of us -- a sampling of things the area is famous for. A nice, thoughtful touch and completely unexpected.
I can't think of any negatives about our trip, except maybe that we didn't want it to end.
Best Part of the Tour: The fifth guest couldn't make it, so we had the whole tour, the guide, and van to ourselves.
Worst Part of the Tour: Nothing at all -- everything was perfect on our tour.
We have done a lot of tours in a lot of different cities and countries. This is the best we've encountered. But, by all means, do your own homework and research the options. That's what I did. I was not disappointed in my decision to go with "Skip the Bus." I am so glad that this went so well for us -- and it's a double bonus for us because we love supporting small businesses whenever we can.
