I used Temptation Tours for our excursion to the Road to Hana. Our driver and guide, Gary Temple was great. He was very knowledgeable and personable. Along the way he pointed out all of the beautiful and different trees and plants. He always stopped for pictures of magnificent waterfalls and scenic spots. Gary gave us a delicious lunch , tablecloth and all alongside a beach. The car was very comfortable and clean. I definitely would recommend this tour for anyone visiting Hawaii!

It. Was. AMAZING! My family and I were picked up from Honua Kai Resorts and Spas, and then the second group of two were picked up from the Royal Lahaina hotel. Our tour guide was Wendy, and she was the best! She is amazing - she is not only a good tour guide with much knowledge about Maui, Kawaii, and many other places, she is also an amazing singer too! Wendy, if you are reading this, let me just say that you made this trip way more than worth it! Anyway, after we all got picked up from our hotels, we made our way down to the Paia village where we had our breakfast at Cafe Mambo. It was actually pretty good. The drinks and food were included (unless u wanted something else that wasn't on the large selections from the menu) and altogether it was a really good breakfast! After breakfast, we went back to our van (A GMC Explorer (it was amazing - really comfy seats, noticed it even had a tv in the back and it was amazing - Wendy even named her van Peter Van) and were given drinks which included water and some juices which included pineapple coconut juice, guava juice, passion fruit juice, and more. We were also offered mints to freshen our breath after breakfast. We then left off for the Road to Hana. We passed many waterfalls, streams, and dams, and we were all given a photo op. Wendy is an amazing driver and knows how to avoid hazardous and dangerous situations, and I think if you don't want to fall off a cliff, you might want to book a tour. We did see a sedan off the cliff on our way back from the Road to Hana. We finally came to our first stop at a waterfall place where there is a lower pool and a pool above that. Note that you can choose when to do your stops, and can decide whether you want to do them before lunch or after lunch or whatever you think will make you most comfortable. The waterfall place was pretty cold, and its sort of fun to cross the rocks to the other side. There will be many people willing to help you out if you have trouble crossing the stream. The waterfall pool is shallow on one side, in which the water comes up around to your legs, but where the waterfall is, it can get as deep as 30 feet. However, I think it is pretty safe, because I saw many children able to stand in most of the places in the pool, and I was able to go a little deeper too. I also saw many adults swimming around. Also, this is the stop where you can change into your swimsuits, and I think the restrooms here are pretty clean. Try to use the cleaner bathroom stops when you can(your tour guide will tell you). After this stop, we passed a few more waterfalls and streams, and we reached the Black Sand beach. It was okay, but for most people, it was a better experience. The waves are strong, the sand and rocks (mostly just rocks) hurt my feet, and there are only rocks to step on in the ocean. I got knocked over by the waves and rolled over a few times in the water, but I got out fine. I just went back in. It is pretty good. You don't have to swim, and you just have to brace yourself each time you see a wave coming. The waves don't hit as hard if you go past the shore. After this, you can get rinsed off at a place near the beach, and get ready to continue your way to the lunch stop. There was also a stop before the black sand beach where there were restrooms. There were also free samples of banana bread (so tasty) and we even bought a macadamia nut banana bread and a huge chocolate chip cookie. Wide selections of food here. Including samples of hot sauce which you can dip chips in. Later on, we reached the lunch stop, after passing much greenery. Apparently, the lunch stop was different because the other place was closed or something, so we stopped by the Hana Ranch Restaurant. I guess this is the lunch place until the other hotel restaurant is open. It was pretty good. Started off with a salad, entree includes choices of two types of burgers and one sandwich. Ended off with a vanilla bean ice cream (the best). Many types of drinks included. can purchase alcohol separately. Restroom stops here and can view the souvenir shops nearby (aka across the parking lot from the Hana Ranch Restaurant). We were then offered mints again and then began our way to the lava rocks that made up a peninsula. It was beautiful. To me, it was probably the most beautiful stop of the whole tour, but that's just my opinion. I will add photos of it to this review. Waves crash all around you, and it's just such a beautiful magical place, words can't even describe it. However, the restrooms here are really dirty and don't have paper towels or soap. Wendy provided hand sanitizer for the whole trip though. There's a lot of information to learn about each place, and many other topics. Wendy did a great job of explaining anything we wanted to know, and she was a great company, and there was lots of conversation on this trip. We made our way back and said good-bye when we were dropped off at the hotel. :( I miss Maui since I am back in California now. That Road to Hana trip was the best Grand FInale there could ever be, and Wendy helped make it possible. Wendy if you are reading this, we miss you!!!

We were so happy to find out Temptations Tours is the best company to get on this tour! Our driver and guide for the day is Jimmy G. And he was great, gave excellent information and history that you can't get if you're driving yourself. We stopped for breakfast in Paia which was great. We plan to go back and explore another day. We highly recommend taking a tour through this winding road so you can really enjoy the scenery and journey. It turned out to be a very wet rainny day but still unbelievable views to see. We made plenty of stops along the way and our guide is very accommodating. No rushing. Lunch was in Hana and the salad and Maui burger was just great. Jimmy was fantastic and we wish him the best! Who knows, we might be back for another go around! Shannon & Will
