This unique experience to Saona Island offering for small groups of 14 pax.
In our experience we visit places not visited by the masses, we will take you to the town of Mano Juan, the only places inside the island where theres people leaving in a small community. Here we will know a community leader who run the turtle conservation area, we will have the time for learn about Turtle and how important they are for the planet. In Mano Juan, we will serve you a breakfast, with sandwiches, juices and fruits.
After Mano Juan Beach, We will be visiting Abanico Beach the most beautiful and famous beach and landscapes, white sands beaches, perfect beach for jump in the water and enjoy the Caribbean Sea of Dominican Republic. Beach chairs and open bar. Abanico Beach, Playa Abanico, here we will enjoy a private self service buffet lunch with Dominican Food. After lunch we will continue to Palmilla Beach to The Natural pools to see star fish. We finish at the reef doing snorkeling for see fish.

Melvin was extremely knowledgeable and gave a lot of historical facts and it made things more interesting. The turtle sanctuary wasn’t what I expected but was interesting nonetheless. I didn’t like the anticipation of being offered a gift and then being told never mind, better to check before mentioning it. Seeing the island before it became overcrowded was phenomenal and well worth the price!! The lunch was absolutely delicious and the pineapple juice was fresh squeezed, best I’ve ever had!! The downside to being the first on the island is that you are instantly bombarded by vendors but they stop fairly quickly. The mangroves were so beautiful and we even got to watch a sea turtle chilling in the water! The starfish sandbar was really amazing and I wish we would have been there for longer. Final stop was snorkeling right by the marina and there were tons of beautiful fish to see, save some bread from lunch if you want an up close and personal experience. The captain was super, maneuvering the waves like a pro, felt safe at all times. The life jackets are mandatory while on the boat and are a little uncomfortable around the neck, as they are the pull over not zip up.

Good Morning Jenn Thanks for leave your review. I really like it, and I appreciate it. It’s great because in this way all others future guest can understand better a few things. The Turtles conservation project is running by the funds that the owner Negro collect by offering coconut oil and honey that he make by his own in the forest. We decided as a company to support him and buy his products and give it to our guest as a gift for free in that way we can support the project and we can give the client a gift. Therefore, as he have a small production sometimes he don’t have enough and that was this case when you went in the excursion unfortunately he doesn’t have stock that day and because of that we can’t give the gift to our clients on that day. Regarding the vendors in the beach as I advices to everyone as you are adult if you want to buy something ask for discount if you don’t want it to buy just say “I’m fine” and the salesman keep walking, that’s all. Nothing that an adult can nor handled. Thanks again for reserved with us was nice to meet you. Best Regards Melvin Duran

This is our 2nd trip to Saona Island with a tour and by far the best! The first trip was taken through Amstar and was a huge group of people. More like a party boat. They took lots of pics but charged heavily for the photos (of course after you’ve had a few too many drinks). The time at the Island was only a couple of hours but the day seemed very long for the few short hours at the island. This time through VIATOR. I usually don’t write reviews but I think people should know the excellent care this tour guide (San Rafael Del Yuma) gave to make the trip extra special! We didn’t go to just one area of the Island but multiple beaches on the Island! We got to visit the only village on the Island and see a baby sea turtle sanctuary! The food was delicious as were the drinks. San Rafael shared so much rich history about the Dominican and Saona Island. Very informative! We got to hold huge starfish! They took so many great pictures and shared them all for FREE! Most importantly I need to mention that I accidentally forgot my iPhone at a gas station we stopped at for a restroom break on our way to the boat. When we got to the boat I immediately told our tour guide San Rafael About my phone mishap. He sent his driver back to the gas station to see if they could retrieve it and they found it! I can’t thank San Rafael and his driver enough for doing this! They went above and beyond the whole trip! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the small group Saona tour with San Rafael! Trust me…you are well taken care of and you will have the best tour ever! I give them a 10 out of 10 in all categories for a tour of a lifetime at Saona! Thank you so much for the special memories and the special attention you gave to our small group!

Positive: 1. Early pick up to beat competition 2. Decent historical facts from guide 3. Sandwiches (limited) , fresh fruit and soft drinks were provided for breakfast at the first stop at Mano Juan. 4. First to Abanico beach on Saona island, an area had 14 sun loungers taped off for the group 5. Palmilla beach with the starfish is good Negative: 1. As advertised there is no secret beach with stunning views and swim at Mano Juan 2. If turtles are not hatching at turtle conservation at Mano Juan…you will be bored with facts and no turtles to see…pointless exercise and time wasting 3. Lunch was hearty but average…for this price point the group of 14’s overall consensus was an expectation of a more luxurious lunch 4. Mini bus lacks decent air con (more noticeable on return trip, as the temperature is higher) 5. Mini bus lacks leg space (especially at the back) 6. On the way back from Bavaro beach to Punta Cana drop off there are no cold drinks for the 2hr drive back

Good afternoon Thanks for leave your review. It’s important to clarify that to see turtle hatching is part of the nature that anyone can control, the intention about visiting the turtle sanctuary is to support the local leader and his program if after you learned about the important of the turtle to the world to all of us cleaning our beaches eating jellyfish i believe this is a very important initiative, that you don’t considered in the same way it’s not mean it’s a waste of time, it’s our intention to support the locals community during our experience and Mano Juan it’s the only inhabitant places in the entire Saona Island. Regarding the lunch our lunch is a traditional Dominican lunch, homemade style very tasting like all others visitors had appreciated and give a good review of the food you need to take in consideration we are in a national park, everything is well present it and it’s enough food for everyone, I don’t like that you are talking for all the others 14 when you were just 2, anyway, the food it’s part of the experience it’s not all, and each people have different taste. From 9;00 am until 4:00 pm when we arrived at the port the bar was open and we included beer like not other company, we included open bar of beer, juiced, rum, when the boat arrived at the port we close the bar, we don’t drink at the Van, but, it’s nice too see how after you spend 10 hours drinking you come to the wall to says it’s was not beer at the way back inside the van, this just describe the type of tourist that you are and what are you looking for In Your vacation time. So for you it’s not important to support the locals at Mano Juan and you complain because they don’t give you a drink in the way back, all the others things was not worth it?
