I booked this tour on Monday, 12/6 for Tuesday, 12/7/21. I could not have been happier with the service and callbacks. The Platypus staff called me to double-check pickup times at our hotel and to go over COVID-19 details. Our tour guide, Luis Canales made our entire day. He was attentive, remembered everyone's name (5 couples - 10 people on the tour). Luis chose 3 wineries that you would not normally find by yourself. None of the wineries sell to retail and consequently they felt more intimate and special. We really were impressed by 2 of the 3 wineries (person taste only as all three wineries were very nice). I bought 3 wines from Ghost Block Estate Wines and 9 bottles from Razi Winery to round out to a full case. I also joined the wine club at Razi Winery and look forward to Mr. Razi's spring 2022 email and wine delivery. The only issue we had was that IL is a hassle to ship to for wine so if you purchase, perhaps request the wineries ship directly to you depending on your home State. I would highly recommend this tour and particularly Luis as your guide. He was insightful, informative and kept the day moving.

I really appreciate that you took the time to write such a detailed and insightful review, and that you hit upon so many of the tour goals that we are aiming to get right every day. I agree that Luis is a treasure; we are all so pleased to be working with him. As for getting wine home, I suggest you pack it in shipper boxes and check it right on your flight home. At least one of the airlines doesn't even charge for checking in wine (look up: wine flies free). Warmest wishes!

Our small group Napa Wine Tour was nothing short of amazing! Luis was such a great tour guide and he even remembered everyone’s names on our bus and made it so personable. He even organized all of our wines, he is so thoughtful! And the wineries he took us to were great and all such different experiences! Madrigal had such great wine and Jackson was a fantastic host. AuburnJames had such great atmosphere and Caitlyn was hilarious! And Razi was a great way to end the day and how cool that the owner, Fred Razi, did our tastings! Overall, this was such a fantastic experience. Thank you Luis!!!

It probably sounds silly that in all these review responses, I fawn so much over the individual tour guides that are so highly complimented here. The trust is, I obsess a bit over great tour guiding, and I do my best to seek out and recruit the very best guides I can find, so when they prove themselves day after day, I feel obligated to call even more attention to all the efforts they are constantly pouring into their craft. Luis is a perfect example. He loves this work, and he brings his best attitude and skillset to his tours every single day. I am honored to know a whole bunch of the best tour guides in the business, and no one is better than Luis. Way to go, dude. Thanks so much for your comments, Clarisa!

We went to Napa Valley for my husband's 41st birthday. Chris was our guide. He did an AMAZING A plus job! The tour was so much fun and learned so much about wine. They were prompt, attentive and affordably priced. The lunch was delicious with the famous quinoa salad. Over the weekend we did a few different tours, but this one knocked it out of the park. I would recommend and book this tour again! Thanks Chris, the driver, for making our day extremely special!

What an awesome posting; thanks so much for taking the time to comment on Chris's tour! As a tour guide, Chris is in fact a force of nature. He is the type of constant fun and enthusiasm that you wish you could bottle. We've been lucky to have had him on the team for nine-plus years, and he has been nothing short of fantastic that entire time.
