I want to start by saying you cannot ask for a better tour guide than Lexi, she was very friendly, knowledgeable approachable. Our tour had someone shadowing her for when she starts guiding tours of her own. She could not be in better hands. My brother and I went on the crawl after an event in the area because we wanted to get the Texas feel while we were in town. We enjoyed the tour and we got a Texas experience on the crawl so our goal was met. The tour starts outside and goes through four bars with different styles so everyone will go to a place they enjoy. While in the bars and even in travel, history of Fort Worth the city, Texas and the west in general was examined and was delivered by Lexi in an enthusiastic and entertaining manner throughout the crawl. This particular crawl was a bit unique because there were just the four of us so the social aspect my have been diminished but Lexi made sure that was not an issue. Here are some overall pros and cons.
Cons
The tour visited 4 bars a few of which were loud and crowded which made hearing Lexi difficult especially when getting into some details and jokes she had set up.
If at full capacity I'd imagine physically fitting in a few bars would be an issue. Our tour had four total and the first bar we had to stand outside the bathrooms so we werent blocking the bar. This may not be an issue at slower times but we did go on a Saturday evening when it was busy. Also seeing the iPad with pictures for the presentation may be an issue with a large group when busy.
Finding the meet up spot was kind of difficult because the sign for the meeting point was small and I walked by it a few times (Lexi saw us wondering around and called us over to the meet up location). The people in the surrounding buildings were not helpful when asking about the address. They just said nope were at this address and was kind of it. Admittedly the actual ticket was a bit more specific but I used the address from the email and the sign it was easy to miss in my opinion.
Pros
Lexi, she was energetic, very friendly, knowledgeable and knew how to present the information in a fun and engaging manner. While waiting for the start time she was talking to the three of us like old friends and as mentioned earlier could not have a better tour guide.
The tour information was terrific it covered Fort Worth as a city, Texas, the west and important people with all of their history. It showed how it evolved and how it affected the rest of the region. The impression on pop culture was thoroughly examined and even covered common misconceptions of everything as well. We all got some new information that night.
The bar selection was also fantastic, each bar was different so there was something for any kind of bar patron. The first had live music and a country feel. The second was a rodeo bar and had the saloon doors as seen in many films. The third had a great beer selection and the last was very trendy and had two floors. There was a bar for everyone.
The area itself had the south western look and was exactly what I pictured Texas to look like having never previously visited.
There are two options for the tour one where drinks are provided and one where there is not with the option to buy. All tour goers are welcome.
All in all this is a must do in Fort Worth if you are here for a visit. It covers anything that someone from out of town could want to do for an evening. Lexi is a great tour guide and that cannot be stressed enough. This is a cant miss.
