The young men who ran this excursion (Brody, Carson and -- George??) were very friendly, kind and pleasant. For kids that age, they had shockingly good social skills. They were helpful and attentive. Brody is very knowledgeable about dolphins! The kayaking was relaxing and fun, and we did see dolphins, and the weather that evening was very nice. All was good once we finally got into the kayaks and started kayaking BUT...... The tour was labeled as "tour departs at 5:30" from location" 2500 Shore drive" We arrived at 5:15 at the spot to meet as listed in the directions at 2500 shore drive at first landing state park. No one was there. We called Chesapean and a young woman answered. She said: "oh sorry, we forgot to text you. we changed the location and time of this kayak tour." Good to know! We asked for an address for the new location and she said "through those gates, you know, off of 64th street, around there." We asked her again for an address for the new meeting location. She said she didn't really know the address, but thought it was at seaside park. Our GPS lady does not know how to find "you know that place through the gates off of 64th street." We were tourists; first time at VA beach. We finally find our way into the second entrance of first landing state park (sign did not say "seaside") and drive until we see the boat ramp and figure it out. It's now about 5:45 p.m. Then we wait and wait and wait. Because Brody wanted to wait for all the late people. Others are clearly calling him asking for directions and do we have to pay the $7.00 parking fee again, etc? We all had the same questions. Finally, at 6:20 we board the kayaks and the tour began around 6:30 p.m. Then it was great! Do not agree with the policy of waiting for families who are extremely late, not just 2-3 minutes late, but 45 minutes late. Also, the change in location and time with no advance notice and then not actually being able to tell people the new location address was very annoying.
