Attending a tea ceremony at Dryshtea House was truly a profound experience. Our host, Flowing River, carried out the ceremony with such warmth and intention, creating an atmosphere that felt both sacred and deeply inviting. The practice of being fully present with the tea—feeling its warmth, tasting its subtle nuances, and breathing in its earthy aroma—became a powerful meditation in itself. Surrounded by the lush, tranquil beauty of the property, I felt as if I had stepped into a timeless place, one where the rushing pace of the outside world faded away. This ceremony was more than just drinking tea—it was a journey inward. The stillness of the space, the ritual of pouring and receiving, and the connection to the elements allowed me to tap into my own intuition while also feeling deeply connected to everything around me. It was a reminder of how simple moments, when held with presence, can become portals to something much greater. I would absolutely recommend visiting Dryshtea House for a tea ceremony. A quiet, peaceful, serene experience in a beautiful setting. The tea ceremony offered the opportunity to quiet mind, slow down the hectic/fast pace of life for 90 minutes and really be present and mindful to the experience of this ancient tradition. I’ve participated in several tea ceremonies at Dryshtea House and each time I have left with a feeling of clarity, new insight and peacefulness.
