THE JETS played a major role in the “Minneapolis Sound” alongside artists such as Prince and Janet Jackson, recording eight “Top Ten” hits, three platinum albums and going on three world tours.

Their hit “Rocket 2 U” was nominated for a Grammy in 1988 and the band’s music is still among the most popular on contemporary radio stations across the country.

The band certainly put all their effort into it. They are a large family of 13 with 7 or 8 playing in the band. I admit that I never heard of them growing up in NYC. The songs down memory Lane were nice.Some I didn’t recognize. The overall issues I had were: The music was a bit louder than necessary. It was so obvious that the Manager of the small theater had thrown in a few people up front to dance and try to make things lively. He switched them out for new “audience dancers” in the middle. There will always be an audience in this level of band as it’s considerably less $ than the big productions. Just don’t look for a sophisticated or super professional show.

I love the Jets but even if I didn’t I would have after this high-energy show. Such great talent. The dancing singing and instrumentals were out standing. With one exemption. The drumming. Wayyyyyyyy too loud and too much bass. Much of the time I couldn’t hear the singing because of the constant loud drumming. A real shame because everything else was top notch.
