The Official Art Deco Gift Shop

Founded in 1976, The Miami Design Preservation League has proudly offered guided walking tours of The Art Deco District for over 40 years. All Proceeds go towards supporting preservation. Visitors are introduced to the history, architecture, and preservation efforts of Miami Beach. Tour ticket includes free admission to the Art Deco Museum and Gift Shop. There are a limited amount of tickets available for each tour, so early bookings are encouraged . Please arrive 15 minutes prior to tour departure for check-in.

We went on the walking tour and it was great! Our guide, Joel was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about sharing his information. He really made the tour interesting and we felt like we learned a lot about the area, the people, and Art Deco as well.

I have been many times to Miami, but had never taken the tour. I'm an architecture lover, so I really wanted to take the tour this time. The ticket is $25 and the tour lasts 90 minutes that went away super fast...I could have spent the whole morning listening to our guide, Melissa. She was very nice did a great job telling us a lot of anecdotes and tidbits related to the history of South Beach and fascinating facts about Art Deco. This tour is really a can't miss attraction!

I have been going to southern Florida since the mid 1960's when I visited my grandparents. I thought I knew a lot about the area. I was wrong. This morning, my husband and I signed up for the art deco tour since I wanted to know more about the buildings. We thought it was going to just be about the art deco movement, but our tour guide, Joel, taught us so much more. South Beach is an amalgamation of history, going back to the beginning of Miami Beach. Joel weaved the history of the buildings to the history of the times, adding a smattering of which buildings were used in movies and television. I totally thought the time spent with Joel was worth my time and so will you.
