I am a seasonal worker in Seward, Alaska and can attest that Sunny Cove Sea Kayaking is the way to go. On my off days, I always would want to see the beauty of Alaska in an up close and personal way. This kayak company always provides that. When my family visits, this is the one thing they must do! From seeing starfish basking on rocks, to otters playful in the water these kayak trips are incredible. When I did the Lowell Point/Tonsina trip I even got to see a humpback whale pretty close to my kayak! Incredible company! Incredible nature! Incredible experiences!

My tip is being authored as I and my family are in a process of isolation during the Covid pandemic. I suppose that these thoughts offered may seem obvious to a nature based experience yet at this time of composition they seem all the more relevant for myself, and worthy of reflection. I would recommend that any one fortunate enough to find themselves navigating a small boat (kayak) on the waters of Resurrection Bay embrace the experience with an aspect of meditation. For the gift of that day, you are wrapped in the pristine beauty of nature at her best. Many things came together for us as a family sharing the possibility of a unique experience in a setting unlike many we have had in the past. Sunny Cove Matt Barnes was our professional guide that day. I can't imagine a better experience so far! I HIGHLY recommend this company as your first adventure in Seward!

I visited in early September 2019 and was lucky enough to get a spot on their last tour of the season. I never kayaked before and was a bit nervous. Russ, the guide, was very cool and gave simple, easy-to-understand instruction on using the kayak and being on the water. I felt comfortable with him as the guide, and I was less nervous. He is very informative about the area and is an awesome guide! The hike in the rainforest was interesting with the moss covered trees that looked kind of out of this world. We visited a beautiful waterfall on one of our stops and even saw salmon in the water on another stop. Being a solo traveller, I was looking for a unique experience. I'd already taken a cruise tour of Resurrection Bay. Being on the water of Resurrection Bay in a kayak was definitely a unique experience! Truly a great experience! I definitely recommend Sunny Cove Sea Kayaking! I'm definitely going to book another kayaking tour with them next time I'm in Seward. Thank you so much!

Hi LN_NOLA! Thank you for sharing your experience with our TripAdvisor community! It's super common to be nervous before trying kayaking for the first time. Russ is a great guide and I'm glad he was able to put you at ease before heading out for your Resurrection Bay adventure. We will be here when you return and we look forward to sharing another adventure! Stephanie C. Millane Owner Sunny Cove Sea Kayaking [email protected] 907.224.4426
