Honestly there wasn’t a moment that I did not enjoy! In the beginning I was very worried because I had many worries of my own which were all resolved!
1) I can barely swim or float
-resolved by Shelby (our lovely attentive instructor for my session) offering us lifevest and we were allowed to use Shelby’s surfboard(?) to grab onto when we wanted to take a break in the middle and want to have something to grab on in the ocean
-Also do not worry if you are slow in the water, she will always make sure that you are not lost and wait for you. Once again, she is extremely attentive.
2)First time snorkeling and never really went into the ocean deeper thn my chest level so I was scared
-yes it is stills scary at first for a little bit but once you start concentrating on the beauty of what is underneath the ocean rather thn your fear, fear goes away and beautiful underwater scenery overpowers it
-also getting used to snorkeling gear itself at first took me some time. I was not used to it so once I got used to concentrating on breathing through my mouth only, and calmed myself down from unreasonable fears, all was good! Also Shelby was very attentive with adjusting the gears on my face and reassured me that it indeed fit well and appropriately.
It didn’t take long for all of my worries to disappear and for me to truly enjoy the session. The next thing you realize is that you had so much fun that time is already over and it’s time to head back🥺
My advice is to listen to what your instructor says and stay close to them, they will tell you when turtles are near so you can see them clearly and closely ( but NO touching!), and that way you will also be able to get amazing pics and vids!
My friend and I saw soooo many turtles along with other sea lives that Shelby showed us! Also it opened us to our new found love for snorkeling! Could not have asked for better first snorkeling experience!
