Everglades Area Tours has been offering educational tours since the 90's. All our guides are formally trained, full-time Florida Master Naturalist and have years more experience than all others. While Everglades National Park is a wilderness and the wildlife is just that ... wild., Our decades of experiences affords the best opportunity to locate, view and photograph wildlife. We are the "Quiet Alternative to an Airboat Ride". Airboats are not allowed in the Park where we operate.

Note: June through October, we suggest the morning experiences due to the weather.

Everglades Area Tours' National Park 2 Hour Dolphin, Birding and Wildlife Tours is a great option for those with limited time and is also a great introduction to the area. The entire Everglades area, including Everglades National Park, is a wonderful place for to view dolphins. With over 300 species of birds throughout the year, it is the only Park that was established for its biological and ecological considerations rather than its geological features. However, most of the 1.5 million acres in the Park are flooded and essentially out of reach for the average visitor. Everglades Area Tours can you take you to areas seldom reached by others. In comfortable captain's style seating, you will be safely brought deep into Everglades National Park's 10,000 Islands for an interpretive tour with your naturalist guide. Depending on the season, you can expect to encounter manatees, dolphins, sea turtles, bald eagles, ospreys, herons, egrets, pelicans, rosette spoonbills, as well as, numerous species of fish and shore birds. Not only will you be introduced to the wonderful birding and wildlife in the area, you will also learn about the Everglades ecosystems, it rich heritage and long history. We had an excellent adventure in the Everglades. Don, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and familiar with the natural state of Florida’s preserve. We saw Dolphins and Don provided wake for them to play in, learned about camping experiences on Pavilion Cay and saw numerous types of birds. We explored the 10,000 Islands. It was an excellent experience, and we appreciated that our party of 6 was accommodated on the boat.

We didn't get to go and could not receive our refund of $272.00. We had a rental car and had difficulty getting the GPS system to program the address of the tour. I sent an a-mail to the contact tour guide for directions with no response. Time was getting close for the tour to start, so I called to cancel. I said to tour person We had an emergency because I was too embarrassed to tell him that we were having trouble with directions. He said usually they only give refunds with 2 days notice. Within the next 15 minutes , I was able to get directions via cell GPS. I called tour guide back and he said our seats were already booked with another party. Long story short, no tour for us and out almost 300 dollars.

Jim. We are disappointed that you did not get to experience our tours. They really are quite special. When you called with the last minute "emergency", your guide was enroute to the marina. As you were the only two guests on that tour, we quickly contacted your guide about the cancellation. You did call back about 20 minutes later after figuring out your GPS. You were informed that it was too late to reinstate the tour as your guide had already been released and was making plans with his family for the day. We genuinely want our guests to experience the Everglades and our tours. But we recognize that things do come up. Rather than cancel, we always try to re-schedule or issue a gift certificate for future tour. You were unable to re-schedule and as you did not book directly with us, we could not issue you a gift certificate. You were informed that you needed (still need?) to contact whomever that you booked though for a refund. They are the ones that have your funds. We do not have your money to issue a refund.

My photo buddy and I booked a boat trip with Captain Charles. What a great morning we had! Captain Charles is very knowledgeable about where the birds roost and when to get out there for the best light to photograph all the beautiful birds we saw. On the first small island we pulled up to, there were so many birds, we could point our cameras in any direction and capture beautiful images with perfect light. We would certainly enjoy another another trip out with Captain Charles and will look him up on our return visit!!
