Our Exclusive VIP whale watching tours are 2 hours long with a maximum of 12 guests. Our small groups make every seat a front row seat as you enjoy whale watching and educational talks from our marine naturalist onboard. Our inflatable rafting vessels are safe, travel quickly to find whales and a fun ride for the whole family.

See Humpback Whales that have traveled 3000 miles from Alaska to give birth and mate in the protected Maui Nui sanctuary off Lahaina where the waters are known for being warm and calm. On our whale watches we could travel anywhere from 2 to 10 miles from Lahaina, often encountering dolphins in addition to humpback whales. Guarantee whale sightings Dec-April, or go again for FREE!

We are locally owned and operated since 1982 and every ticket supports our participation in marine research projects and our role as certified first responders to whale entanglements.

Great trip! The captains really wanted everyone to have a memorable experience and worked hard to get us the best positions to view adult and baby whales, both we saw breaching. We were lucky enough to get a photo!

Great experience! Only 10-12 people on boat so every seat is an excellent seat! We sat and watched 2 male whales trying to impress the female 🐳. So beautiful! Saw a baby whale with his momma. He was jumping and flipping and having a great time. Saw a shark attacking something. When we got closer, it was a black plastic bag (probably a chum bag). Abbie captured the plastic bag to protect animals that might try to eat it. On the way back to the pier the driver (Kristen?) spotted 2 dolphins swimming next to a whale so we turned around to watch for a bit. Abbie, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the whales and explained the behavior of the males trying to attract a female. Highly recommended Ultimate Whale Watch Tour with Abbie & Kristen!

I've taken at least 30 whale watches with Ultimate in the past. The one a few weeks ago will be my last. I hate that they have started playing music on board. While I am a huge fan of listening to music, I don't have to have it blasting every moment of the day. I found it very jarring to listen to while out on the ocean trying to enjoy nature. Also thought the VIP tour was a bit deceptive. 12 passengers on the boat but it was a very small boat. They said it was coastguard certified for 26, but that sure would have been jammed in. Also, it left late and returned early, so didn't even get the full 2 hours. All in all disappointing. Cancelled my remaining watches with Ultimate and switched to Captain Steve's. It was a much better experience.

Sorry to hear you didn't have a great experience with us on your most recent trip. Many of our customers enjoy and have requested we play music on the boat. I wish you had expressed your concern to the Captain so they would've had the opportunity to accommodate. The vessel we run the VIP trip on is coast guard rated for 26 people. We take 18 people on our regular trips and only 12 on the VIP trip. The vessel style is designed for bench seating as well as seating on the pontoons which many of our customers prefer. Again, we are sorry you didn't enjoy your experience with us but we are glad you have found a trip and boat style that is a great experience for you and will still be able to enjoy the whales, even if it isn't with us.
