My daughter and I met a friend, and we did this tour. Great NY food, combined with friendly guide who shared historical, cultural extra tidbits on the walk. Really enjoyed it! Loved the background information of each of the places we went to.

Ryan was an incredible tour guide that was engaging and familial. We had a small tour group (5 people) and he was able to connect and engage with everyone in the party. He was funny, informative, and kind, and was accommodating with patrons that had food allergies. The tour was a great combination of food and culture, with each location offering a great amount of history and background as well as the food. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone, and would love to take any of Ryan’s tours across the city based on my experience here.

The Upper East Side Walking Food Tour begins at the flagship location of a New York Institution that cranks out a staple for many throughout the city. Our guide explained the history of the bagel as we sampled a hot, fresh round which we learned is twisted out back at H&H…all day…every day. Bring your appetite as the next five stops over a two to three hour stroll will leave you sated and satisfied. You will be oriented to the history and diversity not only of the food but of the people who grew and continue to grow the Upper East Side into what it is becoming. You will sample staple victuals from Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Your palate for sweet, hot, and savory will be titillated. Dress for the weather and a walk. The walking is largely flat and takes you across avenues and into neighborhoods. Our guide provided water and was certain to build in stops to ensure our comfort throughout the tour. The tour was an orientation to a city I had not visited and by the end I felt welcomed to a place I hardly know. The ala carte menu is carb loaded so carry along a container for take aways you can enjoy another time.
