At time of booking, Cruise ship passengers must provide the following information: ship name, docking time, disembarkation time and re-boarding time
It is recommended to bring a light jacket and close-toed shoes
A maximum of 4 guests per booking
The tour uses a Ford F-150 that has been modified for off-road use. This truck sits higher up than usual. You must be able to get in and out of the truck unassisted.

So glad I signed us up for this! Scott took us to see places that we would have never seen on our own and pointed out things that we would have never noticed. He is very knowledgeable about the volcanos and sites near Hilo. He was also very patient with our picture taking as my husband and I were both taking many pictures. I highly recommend the sunrise tour; there were very few people at the volcano and they were so quiet that we could hear the movement of the lava. We went back to the park later the next day on our own (couldn't get enough of it) and there were many more people, all talking so no one could hear it; they didn't know what they were missing. I highly recommend this tour!

Mahalo for taking the time to write a great review! It's always thrilling for me when I see visitors wanting to take amazing pictures of this amazing island. It really is worth it getting up early to visit the volcano at sunrise. With about 2 million visitors to Volcanoes National Park annually, it's so great having the park mostly to ourselves so early in the morning. Aloha

By far my favorite excursion of all the islands! Scott was an amazing guide. He communicated throughout the whole process, was on time, his vehicle was spacious and comfy but the BEST was his knowledge of Volcanoes National Park, it's rich history and historical facts. He knew all the places to stop and get out-most undiscovered by the big tour buses so they were peaceful. Scott was patient and let us dictate how much time we wanted to spend at each stop. You can tell he is passionate about his job and he LOVES the park and the island. I would book this over and over again when going back. Truly an amazing experience that wouldn't have been possible with a large group-Scott was great!

Scott provided the best tour of Volcano National Park and the surrounding area! We were a little apprehensive about leaving our hotel at 4:45am but trusted Scott to know what he was doing. He was absolutely right to get to the Park before sunrise. We saw all the stars, heard the volcano rumbling and then witnessed the sunrise!!!! Scott also took us off the normal tourist path, showing us sites that many people never see. I must say that this tour was well worth every penny. Scott is very personable and accommodating. Don't hesitate to book with him.

Mahalo for the kind words and great review! Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is a very special place and being able to explore it before the crowds arrive...it doesn't get any better than that! I always get jazzed when I hear the rumble from the lava lake, and this particular morning did not disappoint! It really was, and always is, a treat sharing the amazing volcano with visitors from all over the world. Aloha
