I truly feel like I was on Punkd or something. I paid $65 and what I got was worth so much more.
I chose to do the Wine Hike because it was within my budget and I would get to see the giraffe (hehe.) With things like this I feel like normally you pay for what you see in the brochures; oh, a hike and some wine? Cool. But we got SO MUCH MORE.
We got to feed the giraffe, take pictures with it, feed llamas, alpacas, ZEBRAS!!!!! We got to go into the organic garden and pick FRESH carrots. (We then got to eat them right then and there, fresh from the ground and it was the best carrot I've ever eaten.) We also got to take some home, my dog has been thoroughly enjoying them.
We got to see so many incredible views of Malibu and of the winery itself, I never wanted to leave. It was like being in another world, away from the hustle and bustle (and smog) of LA and I cannot wait to go back.
After the hike was over we got to taste some wines!! I thought they were just going to give us a little sip of a few wines and that was it, but we sat at a cute little table outside and got to try; two white wines, two red wines, and one rosè. The people you sit with are the people that were also on the hike with you and if sitting at a table all sweaty with a bunch of people doesn't bring you together, all of the wine will. We were all BFF's by the end of it and exchanged numbers and group photos. It's been almost a week since I went and I haven't stopped telling people about it. I am still shocked that I only paid $65 for this. It was really nice that something so beautiful and unique was such an affordable price, especially out here in California. That's the part that really blew my mind. You could spend $40 and go see a movie or you can go have the time of your damn life at this winery. You choose.
I wouldn't be surprised if they raised the prices because it truly was an experience you could pay $120 for, but I really hope they don't. So if they do- until they do- I will be taking literally everyone I know here.
DO THIS HIKE. It's an amazing way to spend the day and make new friends and try awesome wine. Unbeatable experience.
